Placement Policy

BACKGROUND

THIS PLACEMENT POLICY (HEREINAFTER “POLICY”) FORMS PART OF THE OVERALL USER TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL HERO VIRED’S LEARNERS. THIS POLICY SHALL BE APPLICABLE TO ALL OUR PROGRAMS EXCEPT STATED OTHERWISE BY OUR CAREER SERVICES TEAM (HEREINAFTER “CST”). YOUR CONSENT TO BE PART OF THE HERO VIRED PLACEMENT PROCESS SHALL SUBJECT YOUR FURTHER TRANSACTION WITH HERO VIRED IN THIS RESPECT AS PER THE BELOW TERMS. BY PARTICIPATING IN OUR PLACEMENT PROCESS, YOU AGREE TO BE GOVERNED BY THE TERMS OF THIS POLICY. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO AMEND OUR POLICIES FROM TIME TO TIME AND URGE YOU TO KEEP YOURSELF UPDATED WITH THE LATEST CHANGES. AS OUR POLICY EXTENDS CERTAIN BENEFITS TO OUR ALUMNI, THEY ARE REQUESTED TO SEEK THE COPY OF THE LATEST POLICY APPLICABLE BY REACHING OUT TO HERO VIRED’s CST. THIS POLICY IS AN INTERNAL AND CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENT AND LEARNERS WHO HAVE ACCESS TO IT ARE BARRED FROM SHARING IT WITH ANY THIRD PARTY.

Interpretation Notes:

  1. Words denoting the singular number shall include the plural and vice versa.
  2. Reference to the words “include” and “including” shall be construed without limitation
  3. Words used in capitals in this Policy have meanings as defined in the Policy. Words used in capitals and not defined here will have the meaning as defined in our Terms of Use on our Platform.

INTRODUCTION

HeroX Private Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Hero Vired” ) recognizes the importance of securing employment opportunities for its Learners as defined below.

Hero Vired has designed its programs to enable Learners to acquire industry-relevant skills and expertise relevant to the industry and market requirements. We actively engage ourselves with every Learner and help them build their career profile through continuous Career Assistance (as defined below) and guiding them further in our Placement Process. In addition to the value-add in knowledge and skill, as a step forward, Hero Vired invests in facilitating career opportunities for its Learners as well.

Hero Vired provides Placement Assurance or Placement Assistance (as applicable) as value-added complimentary services to its eligible Learners in addition to the Career Assistance extended to the Learners all through our program(s).

This Policy provides for the processes and practices including governance of various aspects of the Placement Process at Hero Vired to enable our Learners to secure employment opportunities after they complete their program(s) successfully.

It is our goal to connect with external organizations/companies to present a broad spectrum of opportunities to our Learners and cater to their diverse aspirations.

For the purpose of this Policy, wherever the context so requires "you/You" or "your/Your/Yourself" shall mean Learners, and the term "We", "us/Us", and "our/Our" shall mean Hero Vired.

MISSION

As part of our placement activities, we have the following missions:

✓ Making our Learners aware of the Hero Vired Placement Policy.

✓ Defining rules and regulations for participation in capstone projects/internships.

✓Defining the rules and regulations for the placements of its Learners.

✓ Defining rules and regulations for participation in capstone projects/internships.

✓ Defining rules for communications with companies participating in the Placements Process.

✓ Defining the process for the acceptance of offers extended by participating Companies.

✓Defining the code of conduct of Learners during the Placement Process.

✓ Provide conditions under which a Learner can be debarred from career services and Placement Drives.

✓ Defining guidelines around pre-joining formalities and conduct on completion of the program. Defining the process to withdraw from the Placement Process.

✓ Defining the process to withdraw from the Placement Process.

DEFINITIONS

  1. “Alumni” means Learners who are designated “Alumni Status” after completion of their program with Hero Vired. Any Alumni shall be required to register himself/herself on Hero Vired Portal to apply for listed placement opportunities. An Alumni is not entitled to any fixed number of placement opportunities or Career Assistance or Career Preparedness or Placement Process undertaken by CST for its Learners.
  2. “Career Assistance” means all the support, and related activities that CST undertakes with respect to its Learners (excluding Alumni) to facilitate the preparedness of the Learners and provide placement opportunities with Companies. This includes both aspects of career services, i.e., Career Preparedness & providing placement opportunities. Career Assistance will be based on the Career Pathway chosen by a Learner, as defined below.
  • Pathway 1 -Placements - suitable for Learners seeking a role change outside/within their existing area of services and/or within their existing company of employment
  • Pathway 2 - Uplift - suitable for Learners seeking professional confidence and looking forward to a long-term career investment and not actively looking for Placements.
  1. “Career Pathways” The choice made by a Learner regarding their career pathway with Hero Vired.
  2. “Career Preparedness" means support and assistance provided by CST to any Learner from the date of enrolment into any of our programs which includes Career Preparedness as part of the program. This includes all activities from equipping our Learners with the necessary skills and tools to crack interviews, to hand-holding them through the Placement Process and arranging for interviews.
  3. Following is a non-exhaustive list of activities included in Career Preparedness:

    1. a) Career counseling (Personalized Career Coaching)
    2. b) Industry-standard CV building sessions
    3. c) LinkedIn profile creation sessions
    4. d) Access to third-party tests
    5. e) Industry sessions/Webinars from industry leaders to provide clarity on career options f) Networking sessions
    6. Mock interviews
    7. Placement opportunities
    8. “Company” means organizations or legal entities selected by Hero Vired to participate in the Placement Drives organized by Hero Vired for its Learners from time to time or for its Alumni as may be applicable.
    9. “Learner” means Hero Vired Users who are eligible for Placement Assistance or Placement Assurance by virtue of the program enrolled for/purchased by them as offered by Hero Vired, subject to them meeting eligibility criteria set out in this Policy.
    10. “Placement Assistance” means facilitating placement opportunities to Hero Vired eligible Learner and/or Hero Vired’s Alumni through placement opportunities listing on the Hero Vired Platform or placement portal or any special Placement Drives arranged by Hero Vired from time to time. An Alumni will only have the access to listed opportunities and no additional assistance shall be provided.
    11. “Placement Assurance'' means facilitating employment opportunities and other support/services i.e., Career Assistance and Career Preparedness as prescribed in this Policy to eligible Learners by Hero Vired subject to them meeting eligibility criteria set out in this Policy and fulfilling other conditions prescribed herein.
    12. “Placement Drive” means an event where Hero Vired invites interested Companies with career opportunities to absorb/place our Learners and/or Alumni, as applicable. These can be conducted during the course of any ongoing program, on program completion, or special events for Alumni from time to time.
    13. “Placement Process” means an end-to-end step, where the CST and Learner coordinate, and engage right from their registration for placement assistance to arranging job interviews, and could include but not necessarily guarantee selection and placement of a successful Learner with a Company.
    14. “Pre-Placement offer” or “PPO”: means any offer made by a Company where our Learner is undergoing a capstone or regular internship through us

APPLICABILITY

This Policy is applicable to Learners and/or Alumni if they sign-up by registering in the manner as communicated by the CST from time to time.

IMPORTANT TERMS

  1. Placement Assistance and Term
    Hero Vired Learners and Alumni are eligible for Placement Assistance of Hero Vired, where such Learners or Alumni shall have access to the job listings available on the Platform and they shall be entitled to apply to such opportunities. Under the Placement Assistance, Hero Vired shall not provide any Career Preparedness/Career Assistance or Placement Process support to Alumni. Hero Vired extends such reasonable support to Learners and to Alumni as it may deem fit and proper.
  2. Placement Assistance and Term
    Placement Assurance is only available to Learners of Hero Vired who undergo Career Preparedness and where Hero Vired specifically provides Career Assistance to such Learners and engage itself in preparing the Leaners for placement. Under Placement Assurance, CST provides a certain number of placement opportunities to the Learners as stated in Section C below.

    In the event any Learner has not been able to secure any job opportunity for themselves during Placement Drives, Hero Vired conducts 2-3 months boot camps or refresher courses post Program Completion/Capstone project to further assist such Learners in getting placed. It is mandatory for unplaced Learners to participate in the bootcamps/refresher courses to allow CST to assist Learners with additional placement opportunities. In the event any Learner is unable to get placed after completing the bootcamp or refresher course (subject to them participating in the Placement Drives), Hero Vired shall pay a stipend at the rate of INR 15,000 to said Learner for a period of three months after the expiry of three months from the date of completion of the program with Hero Vired. For clarification of doubt, any Learner who does not participate in bootcamps or refresher courses will not be eligible for the above-said stipend.

    Placement Assurance shall be available to any Learner from the three months of commencement of the program.

  3. The number of Placement opportunities: Hero Vired commits the following number of minimum placement opportunities stated in the table below to each Learner for programs under Placement Assurance subject to the Learner meeting eligibility criteria set herein:

  5. Except as may be stated otherwise in this Policy, all opportunities arranged by Hero Vired will be counted towards the minimum opportunity commitment of Hero Vired above and Learners are required to apply to listed opportunities without any location or CTC or any other condition constraints.
  6. Validity: This Policy is valid and effective from 1st April 2022 until revoked or withdrawn by Hero Vired.
  7. Amendment: Hero Vired reserves the right to revise/amend/withdraw this Policy to suit various legal, business, customer, and stakeholder requirements. You are required to be aware of any changes and review this policy periodically.
  8. Disputes: Any disputes or claims relating to this policy shall be decided by Lead - Career Services at Hero Vired, and the decision shall be final and binding.
  9. Jurisdiction: Courts of New Delhi shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

A Learner will be eligible for Placement Assurance if they meet the following criteria:

  1. Learner has the attendance of 75% (live Faculty/Industry/TA sessions as well as TA guided lab sessions);
  2. Learner has a minimum of 60% of passing grades in all learning modules taught at Hero Vired or in collaboration with Hero Vired partner institutes as defined in the program.
  3. To evaluate Learners on the aspect of industry readiness, GAP analysis tests will be conducted during the programs more specifically stated in Section VII. The Learner must score more than 60% marks on GAP analysis tests to remain eligible for Placement Assurance. Learners failing to score 60% marks in GAP analysis tests will no longer be provided Placement Assurance, they will however be eligible for all Placement Drives under Placement Assistance.
  4. The Learner must have 100% attendance in all the GAP analysis tests.
  5. In case of any plagiarism, proctoring violation, or misconduct in the test, the Learner would be warned by the Hero Vired team once, and in case of another such attempt, the Learner would be debarred from Career Assistance activities.

GAP ANALYSIS TEST – FREQUENCY AND WEIGHTAGE We list below the number of GAP tests and weightage that will apply to any interested Learner as per the duration of the program:

  1. Each test would include industry-based questions majorly in line with the content covered till the date of the test.
  2. The Learner has met other criteria as defined by the learning excellence team from time to time associated with the completion of the program the Learner has enrolled in.
  3. The Learner has satisfactorily worked on areas of development as advised by the CST. D. The Learner has no present or past record of any disciplinary/code of conduct issues during any program and is eligible for placement as per Hero Vired's sole discretion.
  4. A cooling-off period of at least three (3) months is required for a Learner before participating in any Placement Drive if a Learner has been selected by any Company in any Placement Drive conducted by Hero Vired. No more placement opportunities will be provided to the Learner for the next three (3) months even for higher CTC.

CAPSTONE - (PROJECTS/INTERNSHIPS/APPRENTICESHIPS/CAREER PHASE)

Programs that have inbuilt capstone – (projects/internships/ apprenticeships) will be offered to Learners by the CST. CST will be entitled to allocate suitable capstone (projects/internships/ apprenticeships) to eligible Learner basis Learner’s eligibility and career aspirations. Learner acknowledges that the decision of CST in this connection will be final and binding, and any request by a Learner for changing the capstone - (projects/internships/ apprenticeships) shall be liable to be rejected.

PLACEMENT PROCESS - REGISTRATION AND OTHER TERMS

  1. Registration: To participate in our Placement Drives, you are required to fill out our registration form supplied by CST and submit your request to enroll in the Placement Process within the time period specified by us.
  2. Placement Drive: During our Placement Process, we would arrange Placement Drive(s) where one or more Companies may participate to select suitable candidates for Company’s job openings. Once you are eligible to participate in any Placement Drive or Drive(s), you must diligently review the Job Description (JD) of the participating Company(ies) which provides all the details about the role. You must fill out forms as may be required with accurate and correct details. Hero Vired or Company shall be entitled to reject your candidature if we find deficient or incorrect information.
  3. Selection of companies: Hero Vired reserves the right to select companies that should be invited for the Placement Drive(s).

Notes: Hero Vired shall not entertain any location preference of a Learner for companies participating in its Placement Drive or rejection by a Learner for reasons of lower CTC in case of placement opportunities offered in the same domain as the expertise area of the Learner and such opportunities shall be counted towards the total number of opportunities to be provided to a Learner. A Learner may reject a lower CTC opportunity offered in a different domain than his/her expertise area and that shall not be counted towards the total number of opportunities provided under this Policy.

  1. Selection Process: You acknowledge that the selection process for each Company may be different and each may have various rounds i.e., CV shortlisting, written tests, standardized tests, project/assignment submission, interviews, etc., and you agree to fully participate in the steps as listed by a particular Company. Your non-compliance will entitle us to restrain you from appearing in further Placement Drive(s) without incurring any liability. The selection process may be of the following types, and we shall keep you informed on the procedures in advance.
  2. Online Recruitment – Conducted virtually; or
  3. Hybrid Recruitment – Mix of online and offline steps. You may be required to present physically at the location provided by the company invited for placement drive(s) and/or participate virtually for part of the process, or Drive(s).

III. Capstone Project/Internship driven recruitment – Company, in consultation with Hero Vired CST, directly offers a position to a Learner who is undertaking a capstone –(project/internship/apprenticeship) with it. This may be subject to selection rounds as each Company may deem fit.

  1. Interview stage: You are required to attend the interviews scheduled at the time and venue communicated by CST. Hero Vired disclaims any liability due to short-notice changes in any interview schedule. You are advised to conduct yourself professionally and as per industry standards while participating in the Placement Drive(s) and/or interviews.
  2. Communication: Any notification or communication will be on the email ID provided by the Learner, and we take no liability in the event any Learner misses a scheduled interview for any reason including the wrong communication ID provided by the Learner. Such absence without sufficient reason and notice may also cause the Learner to be disallowed to participate in further interviews.
  3. Cost and Expenses: Learners shall be required to participate in the Placement Process at their own cost. If you are required to appear physically at any Company premises/or other location specified by the Company or communicated by us, you are required to make travel and related arrangements at your own cost.
  4. Prohibition: Learners shall not indulge in any direct or indirect communication with any Company including their employees, agents, or officers participating in our Placement Drive(s). Any bypass of the CST or concealment of any facts, influencing any employee of the Company to ensure your selection will entitle us/Company invited for Placement Drive(s) to take necessary action against you including blacklisting you and/or debarment from the Placement Drive(s). In case of any such misconduct, if the recruiting Company (ies) wishes to take legal action against the Learner then it’s the sole liability of the Learner to resolve such disputes. If you receive any communication from the recruiting Company, you must promptly notify us.
  5. due to non-participation: Hero Vired’s Placement Drives are an effort by us to enable our Learners to seek career opportunities. Your failure to attend the Placement Drive after registering due to any reason* or non-participation in any subsequent rounds of a particular Placement Drive will entitle us to disallow you from participating in the next few Placement Drive(s) and/or debar you from the entire Placement Process. You acknowledge that your non-appearance or non-participation will subject you to sanctions as specified in Annexure 1 of this Policy.
  6. Sanctions due to underperformance: If at any point of the ongoing Placement Process, it has been found that any Learner is deliberately underperforming or notified/observed by the recruiting Company in doing so, in that case, you will be subjected to sanctions as specified in Annexure 1 of this Policy.

Note*:

CST team reserves the right to withdraw sanction or permit any Leaner to participate in the drives if the Learner demonstrates a genuine reason for non-appearance

TYPES OF OFFERS

If you secure a job opportunity during any of our Placement Drives, our CST will communicate the details of the offer to you, and you must confirm acceptance within the time specified in the offer. The following shall be treated as job offers:

  1. Job Offer – Full-time role in a company
  2. Capstone/Internship driven PPO – PPO by a Company with which any Learner is doing their Capstone - (projects/internships/ apprenticeships) in the type of role/employment offered by the Company. Any compensation or remuneration for chosen Learner into the PPO opportunity will be either as per the original commitment by said Company or arrived at by the Company basis the performance of the said Learner during the internship. Compensation offered shall be at the sole discretion of the Company.
  3. Non-Capstone Internship – This means that the Learner has been placed by us for an internship opportunity with a Company (per the company’s internship terms and conditions). This internship, which is unlike capstone (project/internship/ apprenticeship) will be treated as placement for the Learner.

You acknowledge that said company may subsequently make a job offer/ pre-placement offer to you in consultation with CST. However, Hero Vired does not guarantee the conversion of an internship to a full-time placement.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

The following general terms shall apply to the Acceptance or Rejection of any job offer:

  1. Accepting Offer – Any job offer acceptance must be communicated by the Learner along with their offer letter (whether they have been placed by Hero Vired or independently) at the email ID: careerservices@herovired.com within 48 hours from the date of receiving offer communication. Learners must notify Hero Vired within 48 hours of joining the Company with details of the name of the company they have joined.
  2. Rejecting Offer – If a Learner opts to reject a job offer made by any Company to the Learner through Hero Vired’s Placement Drive, the Learner needs to intimate us in writing at careerservices@herovired.com within 48 hours from the date of receiving offers in the format specified in Annexure 2.

Notes:

  1. CST will review the rejection request and may disallow/suspend your right to participate in any of our subsequent Placement Drives until a decision has been made by the CST.

    II. Learners’ Alumni status with Hero Vired may be revoked if they fail to join a Company after accepting the offer arranged through Hero Vired Placement Drive(s).

III. Before appearing for or participating in any Placement Drive of a Company, it’s the Learner’s responsibility to check the credentials of the company to avoid any future problems like fraudulent company, not good or healthy work environment, etc.

  1. If any Company requires a Learner to submit original mark sheets, documents, deposits, bank guarantee, copy of passport, etc. while joining, the Learner would need to make a decision on their own to submit the requested documents and we will not be involved or take any responsibility for the same.
  2. Hero Vired reserves the right to discontinue or revoke this Policy or partly Placement Assurance or Placement Assistance anytime, without incurring any liability.
  3. Hero Vired shall be entitled to decline Placement assistance or Placement assurance to a Learner for reasons which Hero Vired in its sole discretion deems proper.

DEBARMENT FROM CAREER ASSISTANCE AND PLACEMENT PROCESS

You are liable to be suspended/debarred from our Career Assistance and/or all or selected Placement Drives if you:

  1. Indulge in misconduct or misbehavior with a company or Hero Vired staff, employees, or representatives.
  2. Register for a placement drive and subsequently be absent from the process.
  3. Abort from the placement process abruptly.
  4. Conceal information regarding job/offer from CST.
  5. Communicate directly with companies participating in the placement drive.
  6. Disobey any instructions issued by Hero Vired regarding the Placement Process.
  7. Indulge in plagiarism during a program/Placement Drive.
  8. Resort to unethical means.
  9. Present false or misleading information to Hero Vired or the company.
  10. Accept an offer and then reject/surrender it or fail to join.
  11. Indulge in any acts prohibited under applicable laws.
  12. Indulge in any criminal act or wrongdoings.
  13. Spread or cause to spread disharmony, discontent, or anti-national sentiments.
  14. Are found indulging in any acts or omissions, which in the reasonable opinion of Hero Vired is unacceptable.

In addition to the above, if Hero Vired receives any notice against you from any government investigation body, court, or any other authority, we shall be entitled to forthwith suspend your participation in the Placement Process, without incurring any liability.

Subject to an inquiry, if any Learner is found clean of the alleged wrongdoings mentioned above, the CST will revoke the suspension/debarment and notify the Learner.

REFUND/REIMBURSEMENT OF FEE

In the event a Learner either get debarred from Placement Assurance or Assistance or chooses not to appear for Placement Drive or fails to fulfill eligibility conditions prescribed under this Policy, the Learner will not be entitled to claim any refund or reimbursement of any fee paid by them to Hero Vired towards the program.

COMMUNICATIONS

Learners are required to maintain correct contact details (phone number and email ID) provided by them at the time of enrolling in our program. In case of any change, the Learner must promptly notify the Programs Support Team. Hero Vired shall not be liable for any non-communication or loss of communication due to outdated/incorrect Learner contact details.

Hero Vired Learners must update their contact details by writing to the Programs Support Team at the email ID programs@herovired.com.

If you do not wish to participate in the Placement Process, please notify us by mailing careerservices@herovired.com. Your failure to do so will entitle us to send related communication to you without incurring any liability.

DISCLAIMERS

  1. Learner acknowledges that Hero Vired is only facilitating the career opportunities for its Learners and any issuance of an offer letter from any Company depends on the performance of the Learner in the Company’s selection process and other credentials.
  2. Hero Vired does not promise or guarantee a job offer or minimum CTC. Any offer is subject to the eligibility, skill, and expertise of the Learner and their ability to satisfy the requirements of the Company.
  3. Nothing in this Policy shall be read or interpreted as any job guarantee/promise of placement upon completion of any program with us.
  4. Hero Vired shall not entertain any claims if you are unable to secure a job after our Placement Drives.
  5. Hero Vired does not guarantee any fitness for the work environment or best employer status of the Companies which participates in its Placement Drives. It is Learner’s responsibility to verify the Company(ies) credentials.
