    Program FAQs

Who is this program for ?

People who want to design their own games.

People who want to work as game designers in game development studios.

People who want to work as game designers in edtech companies.

People who want to design gamification layers for non-gaming companies and products.

    Why GD PT?

Game design is one of the fastest growing job markets in India – driven largely by the growth of the gaming business and the gamification of edtech and other spaces. This program helps you get started in a career in game design by taking a practical approach in teaching and developing the skills that are most in demand in Indian companies.

What do you mean by Indian contextualization ?

By drawing from examples and references from mobile games that are popular in India (PubG, FreeFire Candy Crush, FIFA etc), we make it much easier for young Indian gamers to grasp design concepts. This is in contrast to international courses – which primarily draw from PC / Console titles that the average Indian gamer has no access to.

By focusing on practical skills and techniques that are relevant to the Indian industry, and reducing the focus on theoretical and academic aspects, the course is focused on helping students acquire the skills they need to be employable in the games industry in India. It also prepares them for further pursuing more academic and theoretical aspects later on should they choose to.

Do I need to know :

    Coding?

Not required. But some experience with basic programming is an advantage, though not necessary.

    PC / Console games?
Not required. Having familiarity with mobile games is sufficient.
